MEMBERSHIP

Fellowship/Membership

Any person, who has attained the age of eighteen years and agree in writing to be bound by the Memorandum of Association and Rules and Regulations of the Institute, may become a ‘Fellow’ of the Institute, subject to the approval of the Council (Governing Body). The Council shall have the right to deny Fellowship to anyone without assigning any reason thereof.

There will be three types of Fellows:

(i)    Honorary – Any person, whose connection with the Institute is deemed to be useful, may with the consent of such person may be made an Honorary Fellow of the Institute by the Council.

(ii)    Ordinary (Annual and Life) – Any person qualified to be a Fellow and paying prescribed fees may be admitted as ordinary Fellow of the Institute.

(iii)    Donor – Any person qualified to be a Fellow and donating a ‘prescribed amount’ in cash or kind (in the latter case the Council shall determine the valuation of the donation in kind) may be admitted as a ‘Donor’ of the Institute. Such a Donor shall be treated also as a Life Fellow. An ‘Initial Donor’ donating in the foundation year of 1983-84 shall be a permanent invitee of all Council meetings.

Institutional Subscriptions: Annual subscription in India for an Institution is Rs. 3000/- plus postage charges as applicable. In case of institutions in SAARC countries it is 60 USD annually. For any other Foreign Institutions, the rate is in terms of 90 USD annually, postage charges extra in all cases.

The Ordinary Fellows (Life/Annual) may continue their membership, even after the end of their term on payment of the annual subscription in every financial year and will be exempted from paying the admission fee again only if the lapse period is less than two financial years.


Membership Process:

• An eligible person may apply online using the Membership Application Form given above after paying the prescribed fee.
  Download/ print the completed form for approval of the competent authority .
• Send the Downloaded Application Form and the scanned copy of the NEFT receipt through email to office.ilee@gmail.com.
  Printed Application Forms along with Demand Draft/Account Payee Cheque may be received by the Treasurer on appointment.
• Acceptance of the Application along with the fees will be acknowledged by issuing a receipt by the Office of the Treasurer.
• All Memberships are subject to the approval of the Executive Council and the AGM of ILEE.

Rights and Obligations of Fellows

(a)   Any Fellow has the right to elect and to be elected in any election to the Institute, provided, to stand for election to the Council a Fellow shall have to have all the dues paid up to last March; and anyone who has not become a Fellow of the Institute for the last twelve months or more, shall not be eligible to stand for election to the Council. No one shall stand for more than one position in the election to the Council.
(b)   Any fellow has the right to submit suggestions, and to inspect the accounts of the Society on Appointment with the Secretary.
(c)   Any fellow who has paid dues up to the last March (i.e. paid up to the last financial year) shall be deemed to be a ‘Current Fellow’ and shall enjoy all the rights and privileges (including voting right), subject to the restrictions mentioned earlier. Fellows shall have one vote each.
(d)   All current members shall have the right to participate in lecture sessions and will be given preference in workshops and training programmes organized by ILEE.

Cessation of Fellowship

Any Fellow shall ceases to be a Fellow –
(a)   on his resignation from membership,
(b)   on his becoming insane or insolvent,
(c)   on his non-payment of subscription for two consecutive years,
(d)   on his conviction of any offense derogatory to the interest of the Institute, or any offense involving moral turpitude.

Expulsion of Fellows

Frequent action of any fellow if found by the Council detrimental to the interest and is in violation of the rules and regulations of the Institute; he may be after enquiry, censured, suspended, or expelled from the fellowship of the Council. In that case the Council shall first serve the Fellow concern with a show cause notice showing therein the charge framed and ask him to submit his statement of defense within a month. If so reply received, the Council shall take its own decision. For any sort of expulsion or termination, the concerned fellow shall not be entitled to prefer any claim for compensation or damage, even if proved on subsequent date that such sort of expulsion or termination was wrongful and / or unlawful.
